What is IFTTT?

    If you go to their web site they will tell you If This Then That. That does not really tell you much. But what is actually does is a big time saver. It alows you to do one task and if you have it set up correctly then it will do another task that you would normally have to do your self. And once that second task is completed that could trigger another task getting done automatically. Or you could have several tasks completed from that first task you completed. Sounds strange I know. That is what I thought the first time I heard about it. What?

    Well let’s just say it works once you take the time to connect things to it and then set up the apps that will run the tasks. Simple right? Well it does take a little work to set things up the first time you do it, but if done right then you will never have to do those other tasks again. Just the first one. So lets see if we can explain it by example.

    For example you have a post you want to put up on a Blogger that you have and you want to put up the same post on a Wordpress blog and a Tumblr blog. So you connect all 3 blogs to IFTTT. Then you set up the apps th do both tasks. So now you just post to your Blogger and IFTTT will post to the other two blogs. And lets say you then want to also bookmark that Blogger post over on Diigo. So you connect Diigo to IFTTT and then create the app to do the task. Now once you post that over on Blogger now it will post to Wordpress blog and Tumblr blog and bookmark it over on Diigo. So I think you can see that once you make that blog post you can set up many apps and complete many tasks all from that one blog post.
