IFTTT stands for If This Then That. What it does is automate different tasks for you. If you do this then they will do that for you. Lets start with an example. First you must connect the different things you want to work with to IFTTT. Lets say you have a blog you want to post to. So you want to post to this blog and then take that over to Pocket and set it up there after you posted to your blog. So first you must connect both your blog and Pocket to your IFTTT account.
So the next step is to set up the applet that will automate this task for you. So you open a new applet and the first thing you must do is set up what they call the trigger, the If This. So in this case your blog post is the trigger. So you set your blog post up as the trigger.
The next step is the action you want to happen when the trigger fires. In this case it is posting your blog post over on Pocket. So you select Pocket as your action, then you set up what it does on pocket. Once you have things set up the way you want it to work over on Pocket you just click the finish button and your done.
Now that you have this all set up the next time you do a post on that blog it will automatically preform the required action over on Pocket just the way you have it set up. Best of all once set up it will do this task every time you post to that blog.
IFTTT also works with smart technology in the same way. Once it is set up it will preform that same task or function every time the trigger is fired. This is a huge time saver for repetitive tasks that you do all the time. Now you can automate many of these functions and save yourself tons of time doing the same things over and over again.
So what can IFTTT do? It can automate many task for you and make your life easier. Get your IFTTT account today and get started saving yourself time.
